French Door Refrigerator With Ice Maker Review

Combining form and functionality, French-door refrigerators have elegant double doors that open to an expansive fridge on the top and a freezer drawer below. Special features like through-the-door dispensers, higher-end ice machines, and customizable flex drawers make them stand out from the crowd.

We contacted Ladina Schopf - interior designer, architect and founder of LS Projects - for her advice on how to choose the right home. They weighed the capacity of storage as well as layout and energy efficiency, among other aspects.

GE Profile Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

Like the name suggests, the GE Profile series is geared towards the consumer who wants to incorporate cutting-edge technologies in their kitchen. This refrigerator is packed with features, from an in-the-door Keurig K-cup coffee maker to a smart water dispenser. But these flourishes don't mask mediocre performance, especially in the refrigerator's freezer and an ineffective temperature-controlled drawer. Given that this fridge costs more, I'd expect better.

Other than that the fridge is a fantastic choice. It boasts a spacious freezer compartment, which is uncommon in counter-depth French door fridges, and it holds a fair amount of frozen food when compared to similar models.

Inside the fridge, there are 17 shelves and compartments. The refrigerator compartment has 18.5 cubic feet of space, which is on what you would expect from the size of a mitsubishi french door fridge with ice maker door fridge that costs this much. The app, available for iOS and Android devices allows you to control your refrigerator from anywhere in the world, and offers many options for customizing. It also alerts you when a door is left open, when the fridge or freezer needs to be defrosted and when it's time to change the filter.

It would be nice if GE PYE22PYNFS included Precise fill, an option available in a few other GE fridges that allows you to set the number of cups of water you'd like to disperse at once. It does offer a countdown on the fridge display to display how much water have left, but it's not as useful as Precise Fill.

Bosch Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

Designed to look as a seamless element of your kitchen, Bosch's french door fridge freezers uk-door refrigerator is a standout. The fridge uses fingerprint-resistant stainless steel, which is a great feature for busy households. It also boasts a veggie compartment that helps keep vegetables and fruits fresher longer, and two compressors for the best preservation of food. This fridge was the top-rated refrigerator in our Refrigerators test for a few reasons. Its freezer temperatures held firm at just above 0 degrees Fahrenheit and never moving by more than a fraction one degree. This is crucial to preventing freezer burn. The fridge section of the fridge also performed well, achieving the desired temperature for initial set within an hour and maintaining that temperature steady over the course of our tests.

Bosch has a reputation for top-of-the-line appliances which is why it's no surprise that this counter depth refrigerator is also a smart appliance, with the option of connecting to your home Wi-Fi and Bosch's Home Connect platform. The app lets you monitor and control your fridge from your smartphone or tablet. The fridge is expensive and has great features and functionality at a fair price.

It is crucial to be aware of the limitations of your fridge. It is possible to be creative with tall objects because the fridge has a small shelf space. The shelves are also not impervious to spills and could easily be damaged or stained by sharp items. The trays can be easily removed from the refrigerator. However, they should be cleaned frequently to stop the growth of mold.

It has a sleek, fingerprint-resistant stainless-steel finish and features thick handles that make them comfortable to grip. Inside, the fridge features the standard French-door layout, with gallon-sized door bins on each door, two rows of shelves that capture spills, and a set of more spacious drawers. The top shelf on the right side can be folded in order to create more space for tall items. There's also a full-width storage drawer for food items and an internal water dispenser.

This refrigerator is equipped with an ice maker making it simple to transfer frozen ice as needed. The freezer also features clever design features, such as sliding drawers that allow you to organize your items. It comes with a large bin for storing frozen food and a separate one for ice.

Another awesome feature of this refrigerator is its Smart InstaView panel. You can control the temperature, lighting and other aspects of your fridge using your smartphone. It's a great way to monitor and manage your refrigerator, particularly if you're away from home.

Although the Smart InstaView is a neat feature, it doesn't necessarily improve the overall performance of the refrigerator. In fact it took longer to defrost and chill food in this refrigerator as compared to other fridges we test. This could be due to its bigger capacity.

The other issue we have with the door of this refrigerator. The handles with a sunken design allow shorter people to open them from the bottom. However taller people will struggle to close them without slamming them. It would have been better if they had a front-mounted handles.

The LG Counter-Depth MAX is a ideal choice for those who want to combine the benefits of a fridge with a French door with an efficient layout. Its capacity is higher than average for a counter-depth model, and it cools well and has a nice layout. It's also less expensive than the most expensive counter depth refrigerator that comes with an ice maker, making it a desirable choice.

This fridge has a few other neat features, including a temperature-monitoring display that alerts you to fluctuations and provides a forecast for the day ahead. The fridge can be linked with a smart thermostat in order to obtain more precise readings of the internal temperature of your fridge.

The exterior of the Frigidaire is made from grey-bodied stainless with a "smudge resistant" finish. It blocks streaks and fingerprints better than other stainless steel finishes I've tested.
